Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the physical status of surgical patients; collect and record data through patient interviews, observation, review of records, diagnostic results, and physician consultation to inform patient care planning.
- Actively listen to patients, identify their needs relative to the surgical procedure, and provide appropriate responses throughout the perioperative process.
- Identify and implement nursing interventions based on specific surgery type, illness, injury, or disease in accordance with Operating Room standards of care.
- Anticipate potential problems, adapt to changes in surgical procedure, and set priorities in emergencies or changes in patient status.
- Create and maintain a sterile field; anticipate equipment and supply needs prior to case start.
- Evaluate nursing interventions against established expected outcomes and reassess patient status, communicating and implementing revised plans of care as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active State of California Registered Nurse License required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- American Heart Association ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of two years of Operating Room experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments.

- Exceptional communication and collaborative teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment.
