Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' medical history and current condition to prepare them for cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepare specialized equipment and monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to universal precautions and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and the broader healthcare team to support smooth and successful cardiac cath lab procedures.
• Provide patient education and support before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Engage in ongoing professional education and mentor others to promote growth and stay current with advancements in the field.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology, or recognized Paramedic program.
• 1–2 years of Radiology Technical or Respiratory Therapy experience; OR 2 years of Paramedic experience; OR more than 2 years of Critical Care or Emergency Department nursing experience.
• BLS (CPR) certification through American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
• One of the following active credentials required: ARRT (Radiology Technologist Registry), RRT licensed by the NC Respiratory Care Board and credentialed by the NBRC, graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (RCIS certification required within 3 months of hire), or NC EMT-P credentialing and/or Paramedic Associate Degree from a recognized program.
• EPIC experience required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior cardiac specialty experience in a cath lab or EP setting.
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring.
