Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 5x8-Hour Shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; occasional night shift coverage may be required
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in a variety of surgical cases including outpatient, orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, surgical instruments, and equipment before, during, and after procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and pass instruments and supplies throughout cases
- Participate in on-call rotation, including one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend day (20-minute response time required)
- Float between the contracted facility and nearby affiliate facilities as needed
- Document and chart accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience
- Experience in outpatient, community hospital, orthopedic, neurological, and vascular cases required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid California Surgical Tech license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
- Willingness to work weekends (approximately 3 per schedule) and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with inpatient and trauma surgical cases
- Prior experience charting in Epic EMR
- First-time travel assignment candidates are welcome to apply
