Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized cardiovascular and open-heart surgical nursing care in a large academic hospital setting
• Scrub hearts and assist with complex cardiac procedures as assigned
• Circulate or scrub, with flexibility to float to other OR suites (general, ortho, neuro, ENT); circulating only if floated
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including Epic EMR documentation from within the past 2 years
• Adhere to varying shift schedules, including 12-hour shifts and weekend call rotations (every 5 weeks)
• Ensure all skills and procedures are performed following established protocols and standards

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with CVOR and scrub skills in open-heart surgery required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years recent OR RN experience with high competency in cardiovascular and open-heart procedures
• Experience working in large (500+ beds), academic, or teaching hospital environments
• Must have Epic EMR experience from the past 2 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CNOR certification preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to unit needs
• Reliable transportation provided, with vehicles equipped for winter months (November-April)

Additional Information

• Assignment duration: 13-16 weeks
• Travel rate: $125 per day; local rate: $115; radius: 50 miles or less; non-local: 51-100 miles
• Bi-weekly orientation sessions, next scheduled for 07/13
• Must provide complete employment history, including all gaps over 90 days
• Reliable transportation strongly recommended, as public transit is unavailable in the area

Note: This role requires availability for 12-hour shifts, weekend call every 5 weeks, and flexibility across multiple OR suites.
