Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a mixed medical and surgical Intensive Care Unit with 20 beds
- Manage variable patient ratios based on acuity, including 1:1 assignments for critical patients on devices or post open heart surgery, 2:1 for ECMO, and up to 1:2 for typical ICU assignments
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Impella, IABP, CRRT (NxStage), BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and chest tubes
- Assist with or support procedures including central and arterial line insertion, intubation, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis with drains, chest tube insertion, TEE/TTE cardioversion, and transvenous pacing wire insertion
- Document patient care accurately using the Sunrise EMR system
- Float to Progressive Care as needed and work every third weekend
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand prior to submission
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- PCU-level experience or higher required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior ICU experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing critical drips, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Organized, adaptable personality well-suited to a fast-paced critical care environment
