Contract | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting within an acute care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated facility
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response situations
- Manage IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, blood product administration, and vasoactive and cardiac drips including titration
- Care for patients with neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions across a broad acuity range
- Perform or support procedures including tracheostomy management, chest tube care, ventilator care, procedural sedation, and wound/wound vac care
- Float within the hospital or to affiliate locations as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission (pending licensure not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records
- Teaching hospital or Level I Trauma center experience preferred
