Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, applying a teamwork approach with a strong focus on patient safety
• Utilize facility systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Float to other units within or near the facility as required; travelers float first
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements, averaging every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
• Be prepared to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or declared disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Willingness to work 36 or 48 hours per week as scheduled; overtime not billed until after 48 hours when on a 48-hour schedule
• Completion of required non-billable onboarding modules (estimated 2–10 hours)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience preferred
• Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred
