What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to foster inclusive learning environments.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to create tailored support plans.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and structured discipline.
• Assess student progress regularly and update IEPs accordingly.
• Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents to ensure ongoing support and progress updates.
• Stay informed on best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Advocate for students’ needs and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid, active Missouri teaching certification in Special Education (provisional license not accepted).
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, or developmental delays.
• Ability to assist students with mobility or physical needs if required by IEPs.
