Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per day coverage required, seven days a week including weekends | Expected 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems through thorough patient histories, behavioral observation, and use of diagnostic tools
• Develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health and behavioral health needs, including goal-setting, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes
• Administer psychiatric and psychotropic medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention support for patients experiencing suicidal ideation, aggression, or acute psychiatric episodes, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management — Active Blue Card CPI required
• Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
• Utilize therapeutic communication, active listening, and empathy to build trust and rapport with patients; document care using Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Active Blue Card CPI certification — required at time of submission
• BLS certification — required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in an inpatient adult psychiatric setting
• Strong knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychiatric pharmacology
• Experience with AIDET communication framework and patient-centered care models
• Ability to float and adapt to varying unit needs based on census and staffing demands
