Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to all patients across the lifespan, from birth to elderly, within the LPN/LVN scope of practice while respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Work in conjunction with Health Aides to ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and checklists are completed; may assist in ordering medical supplies.
• Screen patient calls over the phone and assist mid-level providers in the clinic during after-hours as needed.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural sensitivity when rendering patient care.
• Operate standard office machines and medical equipment such as dynamap, thermometer, and multi-line telephones.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or LVN nursing program.
• Current, active LPN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to work effectively in a patient care setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One year of hospital or clinical experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• IV certification.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification.
• Experience or familiarity working with psychiatric patients.
