Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Holiday Rotation Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular-focused ICU setting, including management of post-cardiac surgery patients, pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention, and valve replacement/repair cases
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; monitor and manage Pulmonary Artery Lines/Swan-Ganz, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and CVVHD/CRRT
• Administer and titrate complex IV medications including cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade agents; manage IV access including arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and ports
• Provide care for ventilated patients including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and support with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Manage CVA/Acute Stroke patients including NIHSS assessment</strong>; assist with lumbar drain management and care of surgical wounds with drains/wound vac
• May float to sister ICU campuses (MICU or other ICU units) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN License required
• CPR and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular ICU experience required
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above prior to submission
• Epic EMR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with multi-system organ failure management and thermoregulation
• Familiarity with infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use
• Experience with CABG patient management and phlebotomy
• Comfort working across multiple ICU environments within a health system
