Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice
- Coordinate and provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, treatments, and facilitation of admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- Deliver patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on level of comprehension
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members in support of the plan of care
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
- Proficiency or ability to be trained in applicable computer systems and clinical applications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous clinical nursing experience in a progressive care, step-down, or similar acute care setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
