Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.
- Fully execute patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, explaining procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct and document ongoing assessments using the nursing process.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care activities performed by other team members.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) or higher.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous nursing experience in an operating room or related clinical setting.
