Travel RN – Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department with patient ratios of 4–6:1
• Perform and assist with procedures including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
• Manage care of psychiatric patients and coordinate transfers to other facilities in accordance with EMTALA regulations
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, RNs, and medics across night shift operations
• Participate in weekend scheduling (four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period; Friday or Saturday for nights)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Must have completed 2–3 prior travel nursing assignments
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) including weekend rotation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Departments
• Comfort working with patient ratios of 5:1
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale
• Relaxed, team-oriented, and adaptable personality well-suited for a collaborative ED environment
