Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts (6:45a–5:15p primary; 7:30a–6:00p Wednesdays) | Includes rotating call, weekend call (one weekend/month), and holiday coverage | 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (excluding on-call hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub cardiac and/or vascular surgical cases as primary responsibility, including cardiac surgery and cardiac transplant surgery
- Assist with open vascular and endovascular surgical procedures
- Support thoracic surgery and robotic thoracic cases
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including overnight and weekend cardiac, cardiac transplant, and endovascular call (30-minute response time required)
- Assist with general surgery cases as needed
- Maintain current NBSTSA national certification throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of related surgical technologist experience
- Valve replacement experience required
- Experience scrubbing cardiac and/or endovascular procedures required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment
- Specialty area expertise in cardiovascular and/or thoracic surgery
- Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical platforms
