Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours/Week | 13-Week Contract | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to a geriatric patient population in a long-term care/skilled nursing setting with a staffing ratio of 1:40
- Perform comprehensive assessments including neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, and skin/wound evaluations
- Administer medications via multiple routes (oral, IV, IM, SQ, rectal, inhaled) and manage anticoagulation, antihyperglycemic, antihypertensive, and other medication therapies; perform accurate narcotic counts
- Manage and care for patients with feeding tubes, Foley catheters, colostomy/ileostomy, and other complex care needs including wound care and pressure ulcer prevention
- Document patient care accurately using PointClickCare and communicate using SBAR methodology
- Adhere to infection control protocols, fall risk assessment and prevention measures, isolation precautions, and national patient safety goals
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; skilled nursing/LTC experience required
- PointClickCare experience required
- LTAC experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a skilled/rehabilitation center setting; familiarity with complex diagnoses such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Proficiency with advanced skills including tracheostomy care, suctioning (ETT/NT), wound V.A.C., PICC/central line care, suprapubic catheter, and nephrostomy tube management
- Previous charge nurse experience and/or experience in a community, teaching, or trauma (Level I or II) hospital setting
- Familiarity with end-of-life/palliative care, patient care plan development, and patient/family teaching
