Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | 16 Weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology unit serving both PCU and Med/Surg patients across adult and geriatric populations
- Manage patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
- Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- Float within scope of practice as needed; staffing ratios goal is 1:4, may reach 1:5
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Locals are accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Prior experience in a surgical oncology or high-acuity PCU setting
- Familiarity with oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndrome management
