Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | 16 Weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology unit serving both PCU and Med/Surg patients across adult and geriatric populations
• Manage patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Float within scope of practice as needed; staffing ratios goal is 1:4, may reach 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Locals are accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Prior experience in a surgical oncology or high-acuity PCU setting
• Familiarity with oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndrome management
