Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
- Float as needed within the hospital, including to the Cardiac ICU / CVPICU, based on census needs — travelers are first to float when census drops and are notified at the start of their shift
- Maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as required throughout the duration of the contract
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems
- Work a minimum of every other weekend (EOW required) and a minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required
- Valid Ohio single-state or multi-state (compact) RN license required at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Must be fully vaccinated — no exceptions
- No previous license disciplinary actions or hits on record
- Supervisor reference required within the past 2 years
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates — candidates within 50 miles will be considered local and local rates will apply
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of candidate submission; maximum of 5 days total may be requested
- Block scheduling is not available unless shifts are Friday–Sunday weekends only
- Previous employees of this facility are ineligible to apply for a period of 1 year from their termination date
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in or exposure to Cardiac ICU (CICU/CVPICU) settings
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Any additional nursing certifications (e.g., ANCC) are a plus
