Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of radiographic examinations including general X-rays, fluoroscopy, and specialized procedures per physician orders and established protocols
- Position patients appropriately, explain procedures, and monitor for signs of distress or discomfort throughout the imaging process
- Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA guidelines to minimize ionizing radiation exposure for patients and staff
- Review radiographic images for quality and perform basic image processing techniques including cropping, collimation, and annotation
- Document examination details, imaging findings, and radiation exposure records accurately in the EMR or RIS
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate imaging services and facilitate patient care
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program (or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program as validated by active ARRT certification)
- Active ARRT Certification
- Active licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
- BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and radiation safety practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working as a Radiology Technician in a hospital or medical imaging facility
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and continuous quality improvement
