Registered Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Contract | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Rotating Days and Nights (7:00–19:00 / 19:30–7:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:1–2
- Manage critically ill patients experiencing conditions such as multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including CRRT (NxStage), Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, and GE ventilators
- Perform and document continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia management and administer externalized IV pump protocols for COVID-positive patients
- Accurately document all patient care activities using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Initiate IVs, interpret telemetry, and manage ventilator-dependent patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU (MICU) experience required
- EPIC experience required
- Active BCLS certification (AHA only) required
- Active ACLS certification (AHA only) required
- Active NIHSS certification (AHA only) required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references)
- Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Specialized experience with COVID-19, post-cardiac arrest care, and renal failure management
- Familiarity with NxStage CRRT and Alaris IV pump systems
- Experience with continuous glucose monitoring protocols in a critical care environment
