Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2 (PICU) and 1:2–3 (Stepdown)
• Perform procedures including IV starts, catheterizations, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
• Assist with and support lumbar punctures (LP holds)
• Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Alaris infusion pumps and other unit-specific equipment
• Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed per unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact license eligibility)
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required (2 years preferred)
• Ability to work 3 weekends within every 6-week scheduling cycle

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of PICU nursing experience
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management in a pediatric setting
