Contract | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Days | Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Exercise independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate interventions, priorities, and escalation of care in accordance with Alaska Board of Nursing scope of practice
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record
- Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs while delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska — required at time of submittal
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required at time of hire
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Geriatric care experience
- Dementia care experience
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced or fluctuating patient-census environment
