Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, with potential to float to other units serving the same patient population
- Perform and interpret ECG rhythm recognition as part of ongoing patient monitoring
- Administer and manage medications safely in accordance with facility standards, including passing the safeMedicate assessment during orientation
- Participate in rotating holiday coverage, working at minimum every other holiday
- Adapt to variable shift scheduling (days or nights) based on operational needs of the unit
- Maintain compliance with all annual hands-on competency and module requirements as directed by the facility
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — permanent Ohio license or compact state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required
- Active ACLS certification required
- Active NIHSS certification required
- All required certifications must be active and in hand at time of submission — no pending certifications accepted
- One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment within the past 12 months is required (co-worker references will not be accepted)
- Must achieve an acceptable score on both the ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (maximum of two attempts allowed)
- No open background check cases; no license hits accepted
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience within a single facility or location for the required specialty experience (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm interpretation in an acute care setting
- Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments quickly
