Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
- Manage short-stay patients with a length of stay of less than 24 hours in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
- Monitor and interpret telemetry for all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with a stretch to 1:6 dependent on level of care
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
- Float to other units as needed per staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care / PCU setting
- Demonstrated telemetry competency — candidates without this skill will not be considered
- Progressive Care experience — candidates without this skill will not be considered
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent progressive care or step-down unit experience
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
- Experience in high-acuity, high-turnover inpatient environments
