Contract | 13–26 Weeks | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing diagnoses including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, encephalopathy, and COVID-19
- Perform and manage IV therapy including peripheral line care, PICC line management, central line blood draws, heparin, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
- Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using remote telemetry monitoring and utilize Rapid Response Team protocols as needed
- Manage respiratory support modalities including CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, oxygen face masks, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Provide wound care, wound vac management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
- Participate in storm, hurricane, and disaster response teams as required; floating to other units within the facility is required
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing, telemetry remote monitoring, blood product administration, phlebotomy, chest tube management, oral suctioning, isolation precautions, and wound care

Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with MS/Telemetry, on-unit telemetry monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
- Familiarity with accessing ports, insulin management, CVA care, surgical drains, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Background in stroke or post-surgical patient populations
