Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in coordination with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, perform medical procedures such as wound care and IV therapy, and operate medical equipment in accordance with established policies and professional guidelines
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities in a timely manner
- Provide patient and family-centered education, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
- Mentor nursing staff and students, serve as a clinical resource, and actively participate in unit-based quality improvement and professional governance activities
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and use of medical equipment and technology
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in labor and delivery, recovery, or postpartum nursing settings
