Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department, including occasional management of OB patients until transfer
• Perform triage and maintain appropriate patient ratios (1:4) in a non-trauma, Primary Stroke and STEMI Center ED
• Manage cardiac monitoring, including recognition and management of dysrhythmias and patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and manage central line care; perform IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Manage respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients; apply isolation precautions as required
• Fulfill Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts as needed; float regularly between ED Hold area, departments, units, and facilities as required — Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact) required at time of submission

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure — both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact equivalent) must be in hand at time of submission; pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Expected weekend commitment: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• Expected weekly hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract period; cancelled shifts must be of the regularly assigned shift length
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted for this role
• All requested time off (max 7 days) must be finalized at time of submission; no additional RTO or schedule requests will be accepted post-offer or post-onsite

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a STEMI Certified or Stroke Certified facility
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Arterial line management experience
• CPI and MAB certifications preferred
