Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular (TCV) surgical patients in both acute care and intermediate care settings
• Care for patients recovering from procedures including CABG, cardiac valve repair/replacement, AAA repair, lung resection, esophagectomy, heart and lung transplant, limb amputations, femoral popliteal bypass, and carotid endarterectomy
• Monitor and manage intermediate care patients requiring advanced monitoring beyond standard acute care, including those on select cardiac drips and arterial lines
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 4–5:1 in acute care and 3:1 in the intermediate care setting
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience caring for post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, or vascular patients
• Familiarity with thrombolytic therapy, arterial line monitoring, and cardiac drip management
