Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for pediatric patients in the PICU, including patients up to 25 years of age
- Perform epilepsy monitoring and deliver condition-appropriate interventions across a range of acuity levels
- Administer inotropes and perform EKG interpretation as part of routine patient management
- Complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with an acceptable passing score
- Document and submit hours worked through the designated scheduling and timekeeping platform
- Participate in rotating holiday coverage, expected at least every other holiday
Required Qualifications
- Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent employment experience in PICU or the specialty being applied for
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending certifications accepted
- Proficiency with EKG interpretation and inotrope administration
- One professional reference required from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months — co-worker references will not be accepted
- Local candidates are welcome and will be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with epilepsy monitoring in a pediatric or mixed-age specialty setting
- Familiarity with competency-based orientation processes and annual skills validation requirements
