Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Contract | 26 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend and every other holiday required; must be available to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays; RTO around Christmas is not available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit during night shift hours
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures within scope of practice
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and patient management
• Float within scope of practice to other units as operationally needed
• Maintain active RRT certification and BLS certification throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required; 4 years of experience strongly preferred
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapy license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — candidates must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Epic experience required
• RTO maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract period; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
• 4 or more years of respiratory therapy experience
• Prior travel therapy experience in a hospital or acute care setting
