Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity stepdown/intermediate care setting, managing diagnoses such as COPD, pulmonary conditions, and ventilated tracheostomy patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry on the unit; manage cardiac drips including titration
• Provide ventilator management, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and non-invasive airway support including CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and oxygen delivery systems
• Manage IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, and heparin protocols
• Perform neurological assessments and care for patients with CVA and traumatic brain injury; administer and monitor PCA
• Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet patient care demands

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with strong ventilator experience required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Pending licenses are not accepted; active licensure required at time of submission
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in medical/surgical telemetry, cardiac telemetry, or step-down/intermediate care environments
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience with endobronchial valves, pre/post hemodialysis management, and feeding tube care
• Comfort with high-acuity respiratory patients including those requiring AIRVO, pulmonary valve placement support, and ABG interpretation
