Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of pediatric patients
• Deliver care in specialized units including Level 4 NICU and pediatric critical care environments
• Operate within a self-scheduling model, collaborating with unit leadership to meet departmental staffing needs
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as required (up to 16 non-billable hours during orientation)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; candidates with a pending VA license may be considered provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — an active license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary VA license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
