Contract | Day/Night Rotating, 12-Hour Shifts, Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for medically complex hematology/oncology patients, including administration of blood products, antibiotics, and management of symptoms and treatment side effects
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, and document accurately using EPIC
- Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and provide updates to patients and families
- Operate unit equipment including Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, and Zebra phones
- If trained and qualified, may be assigned to administer chemotherapy
- Float to other med-surg units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
- Experience in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center
- Active BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
- Active North Dakota RN license or compact state license (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Inpatient oncology experience
- Hematology and/or bone marrow transplant (BMT) experience
