Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver general nursing care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratio
• Manage and maintain wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, and support patients experiencing strokes or seizures
• Operate and monitor PD Cyclers, Alaris IV Pumps, and PCA pumps; administer and monitor Heparin drips
• Provide post-operative care for patients following amputations, ostomy procedures, oral surgeries, chest tube placements, and wound vac applications
• Document all patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system and maintain 100% medication scanning compliance, including controlled substances
• Conduct bedside shift reports, perform safety checks every 1–2 hours, and adhere to HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block
• Willingness to float over core staff per unit floating policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with dialysis patient populations and PD Cycler operation
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation platform
• Experience with wound vac management and complex post-operative patient care
• Strong communication and patient responsiveness skills in a fast-paced acute care environment
