Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborn infants in a 36-bed private room postpartum unit
- Perform required assessments and deliver care aligned with AWHONN guidelines at a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Titrate and manage drips including insulin and heparin per specific physician orders
- Support patients within the Family Birthing Center, including antepartum, women's care, and L&D recovery areas as needed when floating
- Collaborate with a 24/7 charge RN, house supervisor, labor hospitalist, and newborn hospitalist team
- Maintain active BLS and NRP certifications throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification (required)
- NRP certification (required)
- Experience with postpartum patient care and required OB nursing assessments
- Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- Lactation education and support experience
- Level 2 Nursery experience
- Familiarity with Epic EFM system and Philips telemetry monitors
