Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery setting throughout all stages of the labor and delivery process
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, interpreting fetal monitoring strips and responding to changes in patient condition
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures as directed by the care team
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin protocols in accordance with facility policies and physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, midwives, and support staff to ensure safe patient outcomes
- Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
- BLS and other required certifications must be current prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and high-risk obstetric patients
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Familiarity with oxytocin administration and labor augmentation protocols
