Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients in a 47-bed unit
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting
- Operate unit equipment including EMR (Epic), AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Philips monitors, and Telemetry
- Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1 on day shift; float to other Medical Surgical units across campuses as needed
- Badge in and out of the facility for every shift; wear Navy Blue scrubs per unit dress code
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience in a larger hospital (200+ beds, Level 2 or higher trauma center)
- Travel nursing experience required, unless candidate has extensive experience in a large Level 1 facility
- Active North Dakota RN license or Compact RN license required (please indicate issuing state)
- BLS certification required – must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Surgical Oncology patients
- Familiarity with Telemetry monitoring and Bladder Scanner equipment
- Experience floating across multiple Medical Surgical units in a large hospital system
