Sterile Processing Technician
Location
Columbus, OH | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Rotating weekends and occasional scheduled holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination of all items including drills, robotic surgical instruments, and scopes
- Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma sets, loaner trays, and peel packaging
- Execute sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam sterilization methods
- Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing
- Manage sterile storage and serve as an OR Liaison as needed
- Utilize instrument tracking and reprocessing systems including Censitrac and Medivator
Required Qualifications
- Active CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) certification required
- Experience in all areas of a sterile processing department, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, HLD, and sterile storage
- Medivator experience required
- Prior experience in a high-volume, Level One trauma facility or comparable acute care environment strongly expected
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the care site to be eligible for this assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with robotic surgical instrument reprocessing (e.g., Da Vinci)
- Familiarity with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
- OR Liaison experience in a high-acuity surgical environment
- Experience processing loaner and trauma instrumentation
