Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care on a Medical Oncology PCU/Telemetry unit, managing patients with diagnoses including solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
• Monitor and interpret telemetry/dysrhythmias using GE B450 monitoring system; manage cardiac drips and titrate as required
• Perform and manage central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, and IV therapy
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on staffing priorities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience required
• Active, valid RN compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, central/peripheral line care, PICC management, tracheostomy management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, and interpretation of ABGs
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted)
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Skills in IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, phlebotomy, surgical drains, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with dysrhythmia management
