Key Responsibilities
- Serve primarily in the Labor & Delivery unit, monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, managing labor progression, and assisting with deliveries
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, applying strong clinical judgment and effective communication
- Administer medications, perform cervical exams within scope, interpret fetal monitoring strips, and prepare patients for operative deliveries
- Provide postpartum education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the birth experience
- Float to the Med Surg floor when the OB unit is closed
Required Qualifications
- Current Montana RN license (required)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience in Labor & Delivery
- Ability and willingness to float to Med Surg when OB is closed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Med Surg setting in addition to Labor & Delivery
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient and family education in a postpartum setting
- Experience promoting positive birth outcomes for both mother and newborn
