Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a general intermediate population, including patients with sepsis, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, AMI, CVA/TIA, GI bleed, altered mental status, ETOH withdrawal, SI, general post-op, ortho, and urology presentations
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias; perform telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), and feeding tubes; administer blood products and heparin protocols
• Operate and manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, and other oxygen delivery systems; provide tracheostomy care and wound care including wound VAC
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as appropriate; manage cardiac drips (no titration) and PCA
• Float within service line and to sister facilities as needed; maintain isolation precautions and adhere to all compliance and charting requirements using EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — no pending licenses accepted; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry or related setting
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, IV placement and maintenance, blood product administration, and wound care
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or step-down environments
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience managing total joint replacement, CVA, and complex surgical patient populations
