Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Rotating Weekends | Expected 36 hours/week | Overtime may be available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU environment, including patients requiring ECMO, post-CABG care, and heart transplant support
- Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring and manage ventilated patients
- Conduct bedside shift reports with updates to the patient whiteboard at each transition of care
- Collaborate with intensivists on multiple procedures performed within the unit
- Float as needed to other ICUs based on volume and acuity; on rare occasions, may float to a PCU
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience
- Active Texas RN License required — temporary licenses will not be accepted
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Demonstrated experience with hemodynamic monitoring and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with post-CABG patient care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- CVICU background strongly preferred given unit acuity and patient population
