Registered Nurse – PACU (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM | No on-call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct post-anesthesia nursing care within an 18-bay adult PACU setting
- Maintain 1:1 patient ratios during the first 30 minutes post-procedure or when patient requires ICU level of care</strong>; transition to 2:1 ratio when patient is stable
- Adhere to unit requirement that 2 RNs must be present in the PACU at all times when a patient is present
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Magic EMR
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support night case coverage as the unit transitions to 24/7 staffing
- Demonstrate proactive, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced perioperative environment
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (must meet state requirements for Texas)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Demonstrated ICU level of care competency
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification
- TCAR certification
- Experience with Meditech Magic EMR
