Registered Nurse – Pediatric ICU (PICU)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ICU-level nursing care across a broad range of pediatric patient populations including respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, burns, DKA, ortho, ENT, and patients with cardiac histories
- Manage and monitor patients on ventilators, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and gastrostomy tubes
- Maintain patient ratios of 2:1, with 1:1 for higher acuity and up to 3:1 for step-down/lower acuity patients
- Assist with or support procedures including central line and chest tube placement, sedation, lumbar puncture, and intubation
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
- Float to other children's units as needed, including NICU and pediatric specialty areas
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year of ICU-level nursing experience
- Experience caring for intubated patients and managing mechanical ventilators
- PALS certification required
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and every other weekend
- Navy blue scrubs required; t-shirts not permitted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for patients on ECMO (patient care, not pump management)
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Flexible, positive, and communicative personality with strong teamwork skills
