Contract | Days | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Holiday availability required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity PICU setting
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition, implementing appropriate nursing interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as required — 100% floating is expected of all travelers
- Fulfill holiday shift obligations, with an expectation to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- May assume charge nurse responsibilities when needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Indiana RN license must be in hand prior to start date (temporary licenses may be considered once permanent license application has been submitted)
- All required certifications must be in hand prior to submission
- Minimum of 18 months of RN experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- 2 supervisor references required
- Indiana residents are not accepted for this PICU position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience welcomed — first-time travelers are accepted
- Experience in a pediatric or pediatric critical care environment
- Familiarity with charge nurse responsibilities in a high-acuity setting
