Contract | 16-Week Assignment | 32 Hours per Week | 10-Hour Evening Shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holiday Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a telemetry holding area within the emergency department for patients transitioning to medical-surgical and telemetry floors
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms including stroke and telemetry patients; must pass an EKG competency test
• Care for a predominantly elderly population with complex cardiac, critical care, and medically challenging conditions
• Participate in weekend rotation on an every-other-weekend basis and fulfill assigned holiday coverage
• Float within the hospital as needed to support staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency examination
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with cardiac-focused or cardiology patient populations
• Background in caring for critically ill or medically complex elderly patients
• Comfort with floating across multiple units within a hospital setting
