Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit serving intermediate medical patients and surgical overflow, including post-operative and specialty cases such as diabetic teaching and wound care
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Perform and manage IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
- Provide wound care, wound vac management, feeding tube care, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet facility demands; valid licensure in both Kansas and Missouri (or a compact license) is required at time of submission
- Fulfill holiday shift and Charge RN assignments as needed; complete 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — no pending licenses accepted</strong>; must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission
- Minimum 1–2 years of Telemetry experience required
- Required Certifications: BLS and NIHSS
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with neurological/CVA care, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks), isolation precautions, and phlebotomy
- Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with titration of insulin drips and renal failure management
- Orthopedic experience including ortho trauma and total joint replacements
- Tracheostomy management and surgical drain care
- Experience with eye surgery patients and plastics/surgical specialties
