Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, incorporating all four phases of the nursing process.
- Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, treatments, and ongoing assessment and response to procedures and therapies.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with Case Management.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care provided by other team members.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and clinical applications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous clinical nursing experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or IMC/PCU setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
