Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: August 3, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed PICU at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2, with stepdown ratios of 1:2–3
- Perform IV starts, urinary catheterizations, central line dressing changes, and assist with lumbar punctures
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, trach care, and tube feeding and placement
- Document all patient care activities using Cerner electronic health records
- Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed per unit floating policy
- Adhere to a 6-week scheduling rotation requiring a minimum of 3 weekend shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or through compact licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of PICU-specific experience
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Proficiency with Alaris infusion pumps and Cerner documentation system
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced pediatric critical care environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating to Pediatrics or NICU settings
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and ICP management in a pediatric population
- Comfort with self-scheduling practices
