Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care on a 36-bed Medical Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU-level care, serving patients with diagnoses including solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry using GE B450 monitors; manage cardiac drips and titrate as required
• Perform and manage central line care, PICC line management, port access, peripheral IV insertion, and blood product administration
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Implement and maintain strict infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on staffing priorities; valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Experience with arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and surgical drains
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Skills in phlebotomy, management of dysrhythmias, and non-invasive airway management
